Change Made because of the Corona Virus Pandemic

We are now change made if you ask me. What exactly is “change made”? It’s something I just came up with during these crazy unreal changes caused by the Corona Virus Pandemic. Why “Change Made”? because we literally changed our whole plans and routines.. one day we were planning our travels, lifestyle routines, and business meetings, the next day we were found with empty shelves at stores, and stuck at home for an unknown amount of time.

I figured I’d use some of my time at home to describe how some of my friends and I in South Texas USA became “Change Made” because of the Corona Virus and how we’re handling all of it.

MARIA GARIBAY
I’m sure you’re already aware of who I am, no duh, this is my blog, lol but here’s a proper introduction of myself ; I’m Maria Garibay, latina entrepreneur blogger and someone who LOVES to travel + help others believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Just like many others, I had plans to do some traveling this Spring 2020 + Summer 2020, flights were booked, and plans were made. Until, as we all know, the pandemic happened, flights got cancelled, and plans changed. I wasn’t expecting for any of this to happen, and yes, it got me worried. Gratefully I’m home with my family, and it sure has been a lot easier for me to handle all that’s going on in the world because I’m with the people I love the most.

I have been home, following procedures, and literally ordering online just to avoid crowds in stores. I have also been able to work from home, reminder of why I love entrepreneurship. This pandemic has caused a huge CHANGE in our lives, and I believe instead of worrying about everything that’s happening, we should learn from it all. The time to be united and help each other is now. Like I mentioned before, I am blessed to be home with my family, I know some people/friends who didn’t get the chance to be with their families, so I am just so grateful I get to spend time with mine.
I recommend for ya’ll to look around and write down what you’re grateful for, if you are currently reading this, that means you can see, you can read, you are breathing, and you’ve got a heartbeat! so there you go, that’s something to be grateful for. We need to focus on the things we have now, and not on the things we don’t have. I am grateful to spend time with my family in these difficult times, and grateful I didn’t start my traveling when this virus broke loose. God is good and in control, if you need some support or motivation please feel free to reach out!
Mi gente, we are all in this TOGETHER!

Julie Yerena
Today is March 27, a day before my birthday 🎂. For those who don’t know me, my name is Julie, I’m an undergraduate at TAMUCC and a proud islander, I love KPOP, I love social media, and I consider myself very social and optimistic.

For starters, this whole month has been overwhelming! The infamous Corona Virus has taken over the world!! It’s the end of the world I’m telling you! Haha, no but really, this thing has been crazy. Schools have transitioned to remote learning; businesses have shut down and the #SocialDistancing is all I see nowadays.

If you’re wondering what I’m up to these days, I’ve been working on strengthening my intuition, keeping an open mind and trying to live my life in harmony. Even though this pandemic might be turning our life around, I strongly believe that this is the time to appreciate the calmness and the closeness to the people in your home. To me, it’s my family who I’m very grateful for. Being that I attend school in Corpus, I don’t really get the chance to spend a lot of time at home. With this intention, I’m appreciating every moment of it.

My advice to people reading this post is to, observe things from a different perspective, stay calm, keep yourself and those around you in mind, and most of all stop drowning yourself with worries. Whenever this happens, remember to take a deep breath and distract yourself. Whether it’s connecting with friends online or trying something new, stay positive, optimistic and don’t take things for granted. Be grateful and continue being blessed.
#SocialDistancing.

ERH
My name is ERH, I am a recent college graduate, I graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Prior to the pandemic, I was working as a math tutor in my hometown and I was planning on going back to school for a masters. Now with our current situation, my daily life and future feel a bit uncertain. I have been trying to keep up with news as best as I can, and I have become concerned with our country. Despite this feeling of uneasiness, I am trying to make the best out of the quarantine and turn it into a more positive experience.

I have used the month of March to work on my daily habits. Some of the things I did this past month were reading and listening to audiobooks. The last book I read is called, “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl and I’m currently reading “The Pilgrimage” by Paulo Coelho. Furthermore, I signed up for the free New York Times morning and evening briefings, and Vogues’ newsletters. I also started working out to short 10-minute workouts on YouTube and marking each day that I work out on my calendar to keep myself motivated.  Everyday I try to play games on Lumosity, Elevate and Magoosh to keep my mind sharp. Since I am a Spanish speaking person, I decided to start learning Italian on Mango Languages. At last, I have started online tutoring to adapt to our current “virtual” world.

Above all, this quarantine has made me reflect on the value of family and human relationships. At night when it’s time to go to sleep, I think of the people I love, and the importance they’ve had in my life. I feel thankful for them and I wish that they’re in a good place. Before going to sleep, I think of becoming a better person and making the most out of myself so that I can help and serve as many people that come my way. Ultimately, this quarantine can be used as a time to learn something new, reflect on our lives and be thankful for all our experiences.
